The Proposal

On 12/12/09 we were in Crystal Lake on Main Beach. The plan was to hang out then go Christmas shopping. (Meagan always needs a plan!) Blake came up with a good idea of setting the camera on a timer to get a cute picture of us: on the lake, sun setting, etc. After a few trials, he pressed the picture button, ran over...and proposed. Hence-the picture. It was perfect and even more perfect that we have a picture to never forget it!

Invitations

That's what we are currently working on! The good news is that we know what we want. The bad news is-we can't figure out what to say! We are hoping to get them ordered this week! One less thing to worry about :) The 18th we are taking engagement pictures-we are taking them at the beach where Blake proposed. We are super excited about them :)

Life has been crazy with the end of summer and the beginning of school. The wedding dress isn't officially mine yet-we have one more fitting with the seamstress to see if it is the one! We are doing that next Saturday. Since Saturdays are booking up fast with wedding plans-I have decided to quit one of my jobs. It feels so refreshing! I'm looking into tutoring-much more for me!

Blake is doing great-shorthanded at work. But that means overtime :) He is feeling extremely good-but don't scare him, it still hurts a little! (I learned the hard way!)

We are also excited to announce that we have added to our bridal party! Kaylan Hay (Meagan's cousin!) is going to stand up in the wedding as well. We will have 2 maid-of-honors and 1 best man. We are super excited to have her with us during the process. She is more like a Sister to Meagan-and we couldn't imagine her as anything else. Super pumped she said YES!

We have made a few other decisions that will be announced as time comes! In the meantime, we are finishing invites, meeting with DJ's (Thanks for all the ideas!), and talking about flowers.

The last dilemma-to use a videographer or not?!?!? We don't have excessive funds....but I hear that people wish they would have had them. Let us know what you think!

  1. If you can squeeze the money out of other thing (flowers come to mind - there are usually too many and they are short lived (you could do what we did: a simple silk flower arrangement at the church which migrated to the reception and then to the house)) a video is always a nice to have. But the real memories are in your and and heart. I don't think we looked at our video more than once. The other thing is pictures; be careful with the pro photographer, and provide disposable cameras at the reception. The candid shots can sometime be better than the pro ones and lots less expensive.

    Just my 2¢.
